HOMEWORK POLICY:
We want each and every student to succeed. We expect every assignment to be done by every child to the best of their ability. We will accept assignments within each quarter deadline, leaving plenty of leeway for assignments to be handed in. Because we feel that 5th graders are transitioning into the Middle School, our goal is to make sure that we get every assignment from every student within the quarter. We do not take off points for late work, however, we will be evaluating and assessing late assignments in their H.O.W.L.'s (Habits of Work and Learning). Also, we will be asking students to self-assess their work habits throughout the year. Our hope is that as each child matures, so will the ability to be more responsible.
If your child is not getting a concept/does not understand their homework, please let us know. Shoot us an email, or write us a note on the assignment itself. We can work with him or her during T.L.T. ( Targeted Learning Time) and/or after school.
