Math and Science homework expectations for 5th grade . . .
Our 5th grade homework procedures and expectations are set and you are consistently held accountable in order to help you prepare for middle school upper grades.
*Student Planners ~ Your student planner is your key to a successful journey. It must travel with you to and from school each day. You will have time in each class to fill out your student planner. You will copy exactly what is written on the whiteboard, Google Classroom or given to you by Mrs. Mayo or Mrs. DesMarais and then make sure that you have each folder or book that you need to take home.

Have your child sign into their Google Classroom Account
Check the math and science classroom sites and click on the tab "Homework" on the left hand side.
I will try to the best or my abilities to have homework updated weekly and daily.
Please be advised that homework may change due to what is covered in the classroom during the day.
Expectation ~ You will be prepared for each academic subject each day with the appropriate folders, books, and/ or homework
* Homework ~ Math ~ You will be given math journal pages to complete most evenings, and you are expected to practice multiplication and division facts until you have a 100% mastery on 50 fact math quizzes. ~ Reflex math should be practiced nightly until the green light or at least 20 minutes of time has transpired. (Reflex math program is our math fact program that has been very successful grades 5 - 8).

Science
You should expect science reading to be assigned occasionally starting after the third week of school. Reading will be assigned from informational magazines, articles and online websites. You will need to write a summary of the text using a given graphic organizer.
Occasionally you will be asked to work on a given project or finish a project from science at home.
